Mr. Torino was the President of the National Professional High Council
for the Private Research Agencies.

Define my profession ! Huge surprise… First of all, it's a vocation, for me anyhow and often for most of my collaborators. The caricature of the private must be abandoned : incarned by H. Bogart, always achieving when police fails. Also to forget : the image of the reddening guy, miserably sitting a the top of an apple tree, holding binoculars, following the adultress wife… Folklore ! Half a century of constant practice allows me to establish a countbook of which I can't be ashamed. I don't count anymore runaway teenagers I brought back to their families, found heirs, solid friends separated by odds of life that I reunited thank to my efforts.
The commercial and financial investigations happily ended (enterprises protected from unloyal concurrence or malversations).

Speaking of this, I maintain that money, considered the " nerve of the war ", is not essential. Many are the people who left my office after opening their heart. Our job,it's a question of …luck ! My activity is also helping inventors from getting their trademarks stolen, notaries to find " ayants droit ".

We also give tips to those who are trying not to associate in business with doubtful persons, but who look clean from all angles. We have to be curious : but like Anatole France, who wrote in " The garden of Epicure " : " There is always a moment when curiosity becomes a sin, and the devil always puts aside servants " I oppose Cowley : " Curiosity, no less than devotion, makes pilgrims ".
We are, ourselves, pilgrims of truth.
